Friends for over 40 years and working partners for the last 15 slaving over hot grills at local rib burnoffs, festivals and catering events, we got this crazy idea about 6 years ago after Moose Head BBQ Grill, Amherst won the People’s Choice award at the Cleveland Rib Burnoff, to open another BBQ restaurant. Our search led us to this great location in the heart of the French Creek Historical District in Avon, Ohio. Our goal is to provide all of our patrons with a dining experience surrounded by good food, friendly service, family atmosphere and satisfied appetites. Excellent food, big portions, and a great price
Their food is so yummy. Bubba's gets more press but Mighty Moose is, by far, superior! Try their BBQ salmon.
Great prices, delicious food and generous portions make this restaurant a "must go to" place. Their pulled pork sandwich is outstanding and the burgers need two hands to lift.

I placed a carry out from Mighty Moose and since the weather was so nice I drove off to a local park to eat it..
I ordered the Pretzel walleye sandwich (which was pretty good..(I'd scrape some of the toppings off it) and the BBQ sampler. Again the sampler was good too. I ordered the sweet potato fries...which were OK but not the best in the world...dipping sauce tasted like a taco bell cinnamon crisp..eh..
Unfortunately my server forgot to pack the side of baked beans...which went un noticed under the mounds of food I already had on my picnic table....and while I was chowing down my cell phone range ..and it was the moose calling saying they'd forgotten to give me my beans.
They were very apologetic and thinking I was local since I called in the carry out..even offered to drive the beans to my home thinking I lived in Avon. it's too bad I live in Metro Detroit and was only visiting..and eating on the way back to my hotel in elyria...so I said the oversite was OK and not to worry...
The sampler was good, the slaw good, the walleye good , the service good...and the offer to correct the oversight by driving the food to my non existant home in Avon exceptional.
As a testiment to the quality or aroma of the food, I must have dropped a little bit of the meat on the grass or dripped some stuff on the table because after I was done eating and tossing my trash in the garbage..I walked to my car and a little siamese kitten (10 month) came skulking out of a nearby neighbor's yard and started combing the grass, and jumped up on the table to lick up some after BBQ. Enjoyed by humans and cats too.

Why is the Mighty Moose the best? The sauce is the best in the world. The meat literally falls off the bone. You get more food than you can eat in one sitting for an excellent price.
Great BBQ, good service, large portions. For the price of your dinner, which is reasonable to begin with, you actually get enough food for 3 meals!
The staff are very friendly. The food is very good and it doesn't matter what day of the week we go in, the food is consistently good. Nice place to visit.

This is my family's favorite place to go to for barbecue. We are so lucky that they set up shop in our town. My husband and daughter absolutely love their ribs. Awesome food! Fantastic place! Excellent service! You can't go wrong when you go to the Mighty Moose.
