Been here with some friends before, love the owner, love the atmosphere! The patio is great for summers and the basement is a great place to hang out on a cold Friday night
Twist is the only bar bordering the gayborhood of Cleveland/Lakewood this perennial favorite has a unique style and atmosphere. While the crowd is mainly from the alternative communities there is a steady turnover of mainstreamers who value the friendly staff, the handsome Greek gods and the enthusiastic patrons. It has some of the best features of sports bars, of dance clubs and of neighborhood haunts rolled into a powerful business. And TWIST has earned widespred support for the many ways by which it contributes to sports teams and other worthy community building
causes in its clean, safe and casual environment. Heidi is a real asset for her respectful and positive intreaction with so many members of the LGBT population. Jeff is refreshing eyecandy for the world weary as well.Here you'll find great people who enjoy a drink and are still able to carry on a normal conversation with one another. TWIST and SHout!
I am giving only 2 stars... John the owner is friendly but the male bartenders suck. They act as if it is a chore to wait on you. I use to spend at least 150-200 every other week there a few years back I refuse to go back until they change staff.

The owner is great but PLEASE GET NEW STAFF. Main reason I stopped going. The staff is slow & unfriendly, you could jump up on the bar naked and still couldn't get served. The girl that has worked there for years is horrible!!!!

Very fun on Friday late night. Hot guys! Only reason I'm commenting though is because of the posts below. My gay friends say the same exact thing about the bartenders.....they make you wait and are not friendly. One of them actually rolled his eyes when I asked for a glass of water!
Hung out there a few times this summer and it wasn't all that great. Like the Hawk better.......service was slow and workers were unwelcoming.
needs a make-over. Some of the bartenders are not very nice.
Nice comfortable bar, but PLEASE PAINT the inside a move lively color. Looks like a dungeon inside.......BORING!!!!!!!!!!! Many of us are tired of that old industrial look that went out in the 80's are are going to Hawk and Argos.

Great place, nice patio up front. Very fun on Friday nights. I agree with the post below. The owner is great and makes everyone feel welcome. His staff could do a better job of being sociable and nice to customers though.
Great club, I enjoy the Sunday afternoon-evening lineup. Very friendly mix of gay, straight, trans gendered individuals!
The bar is like a home. The people are SO friendly. It IS the West side "hot spot". The bartenders are great and if possible the owner is even better!
Previous post made a good point. Fun place but the majority of the bar staff is not very friendly.
